Lists things coming up (at the time of publication at least)

September 2013 Updates

1.  Clinical Pastoral Education.  Batch 3 completed in mid-August, with 3 graduates. Batch 4 started on September 9th with 6 trainees. One is working on first unit, the others are working on 2nd or 3rd. Batch 5 (the final batch for 2013 is expected to start November or December.

2.  BOT meeting. October will be our annual board meeting. Actual date TBD.

3.  Farrell Symposium. The Annual Farrell Symposium is tentatively scheduled for October 25th at Philippine Children Medical Center in Quezon City. Speakers are expected to be Dr. Cesar Espineda and Chaplain Barbara McGuire.

4.  CPSP. Congratulations to Padi Pinit Caytap as the convener of the newest CPSP Chapter— Resurrection. That brings the number of chapters in the Philippines to 5. A 6th is in the process of being formed in Manila.

5.  Sunflower Children Center. In August we had a nice visit with Fr. Acosta and staff at Sunflower Children Center. They do a wonderful job in helping children in greater Baguio. 6 of our team were able to join a training on DSM-5 as it pertains to children. It was hosted by Sunflower. We look forward to continued opportunities to support each other.

1.  CPE Batch (Jun – Aug) led by Joyce is ongoing.
2.  Staff Meeting, July 4th (Hopefuly no fireworks <joke>) at 10:30am – 1pm
3.  Disaster Response Counseling Training. Friday July 5, 5pm, La Trinidad
4.  Group Crisis Care, Saturday, July 13, all day, Abatan, Benguet
5.  Baguio and Benguet CPSP Chapter Life (Dates TBD)
6.  “Saturday” CPE, Half Unit, led by Celia. Starting 1st week in August, 10 weeks.

  • Completion of Summer Institute “Missionary Member Care” Class, with 13 trainees from 5 nations.
  • Jehny has successfully arrived in her mission site for several months of ministry, including pastoral care and missionary member care.

Manigong Bagong Taon (Happy New Years!!)

I always get nervous about putting a schedule down, because it seems like as soon as we put a schedule down… something changes. Nevertheless, planning Christian Life and Self-care seminar in Isabela province February 22 and 23. The training with SNN is postponed. Half-unit CPE begins in Baguio January 8th. CPO starts January 14th, and we are now accepting applications for CPE full unit starting in March 2013. Happy New Years!!

June Updates, Bukal Life-Manila

Sr. Sofia Natama mentioned that Bukal Life Manila will have their “St. Lukes” CPE group starting this July, co-led with Dr. Sim. Also Chit Panizales has finished negotiations and this Saturday (June 9, 9:30am), the CPE office for Bukal Life-Manila will open in Quezon City. Simply awesome guys!

CPE Graduation in Manila

CPE-Manila. Closing ceremony on Thursday, 17 May 2012, 3;30 PM at Conference room, of Bishop’s Office, ECP at St Lukes Hospital Compound, E. Rodriguez Avenue, Quezon CIty. Six will graduate, two finishing Unit I, and four finishing Unit II.
