We hope that everyone are beginning to wake up from the Pandemic Slumber. Here in Baguio City, Philippines, things are still a bit slow. Vaccine distribution has been rather delayed, and infection rates are pretty high right now. Despite this, some things are moving forward.
- We presently have three clinical pastoral groups active. All three are online. Group #1 (3 trainees with Supervisor Vo) are just finishing up their CPE unit. Group #2 (4 trainees with Supervisor Lyn) are well into their CPE unit. Group #3 (5 trainees with Supervisor Celia) are in the middle of their CPO course.
- It is still our plan to have one or two groups for CPE to begin in May or early June. The exact format of them are a bit unclear. Part of this is that there are still uncertainties about meeting face-to-face. The other is the seminary where our training center is based. The schedule of the school is being changed because of adjusting to the new post-pandemic environment. It may make it impossible for us to do Intensive units— we may be limited to Extended units only.
- Our office is almost finished. We had considerable refurbishment done. Truthfully, it could have been available for use back in February. However, because of the pandemic, we haven’t really rushed the finishing touches. Likely to be done in May.
- We have updated one of our training books on pastoral care. We updated our book, on Dynamics with new title, cover, and content updates as “Dynamics in Pastoral Care: Enhancing Transformative Soul Care.”
