April and Beyond at Bukal Life Care

  1. We have a number of big things coming up at Bukal. Primary among these is Clinical Pastoral Education:

-CPE Summer Intensive (May 26 – August 15). Full Unit

-CPE Summer Intensive (June 11 – July 18). Half Unit (CPO)

We still have some openings available for our Full Unit batch. Our Half Unit is possibly full. However, if there is enough interest, we can perhaps start another group in the batch.

2. There are a few projects coming up as well. Here are a few:

-April 23-25. Training Project with The Salvation Army (Laguna)

-June 7-8. CPSP-Philippine Plenary Gathering in Santa Maria.

-August 13-16. OSB 6th Triennial Missions Congress

3. We have a number of copies of “The Art of Pastoral Care” by Robert and Celia Munson at our office in Baguio City. They are P350 each. Email us if you want a copy. (Additional cost if it needs to be shipped.) Note that for those in other countries or those who want an electronic copy can do so by ordering it online (Amazon and other vendors.

CPE Summer Intensive (Mar-May) 2015

Trying to figure out how many have committed to do CPE this Summer starting March 16 (or April 8th for half unit). We are coming up with 10 for full unit and 8 for half unit. That is the largest number since 2011. But the number may still go up or down. They will be split between Celia Munson, Dr. Paul Tabon, and Jehny Pedazo.

Also looking into having another unit starting, perhaps in June… maybe July. Looking into the possibiliy that this unit will focus more on palliative care, due to the growth of need in this area in the Baguio area. Will keep you update.

June 2014 CPE Half Unit

Here are a few updates for the upcoming weeks.

Other News

A.  We will begin our monthly training mini-workshops in December.  These will be 1.5 to 2.5 hour evening workshops with focus on pastoral skills. These we anticipate will normally be held at Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary.

B.  Congratulations to Becky Taylor as she assumes the role of Office Manager for our ministry office at PBTS.

C.  Looking to have a refresher training in Disaster Response Crisis Care Training in the next few months.

Bukal Life Care Membership

Greetings. The Board of Trustees of Bukal Life Care & Training Center has set up a membership roll for people directly (in directly) connected to us (and I suppose for those that want to have some connection with us). There is no cost for membership. It is, however, expressing a desire to grow in “pastoral care” and “pastoral counseling.” We hope to be able to grow together, and utilize each others’ strengths for mutual edification.
